Life is Magic by Meg McClaren (Andersen Children's Books)

Izzy Whizzy let's get busy reviewing a rather splendid book filled with magic, bunnies and amazing feats of prestidigitation (phew, love that word!) After all, "Life is Magic"
Try as we might, we're hopeless at tricks. Sleight of hand is totally beyond us, but Charlotte can actually turn an empty room into an amazing morass of chaos. I guess that's a trick in itself.

"Life is Magic" is the superb little story of a famous magician named Monsieur Lapin and his amazing troupe of performing bunnies. His tricks dazzle and delight the audience, but the bunnies are a bit fed up - after all, they seem to be the ones doing all the hard work.

Before long, one rather gutsy little fellah called Houdini decides that enough is enough, and neatly turns the tables on the magician with a deft swish and flick of his wand.

Magician becomes bunny. Bunny becomes magician, and soon the audience are clamouring for Houdini as he comes up with an ever-increasing array of dazzling tricks and feats of escapology.

Poor Monsieur Lapin does miss the spotlight though, so perhaps it's time for Houdini to put everything back in its place with one final amazing trick!

Meg's story is full of delicious characters and is as dazzling and entertaining as Monsieur Lapin's act. A hugely satisfying book, guaranteed to delight your little ones!

Charlotte's favourite bit: When Houdini changes poor Monsieur Lapin into a tiny moustachioed rabbit! Eep!

Daddy's favourite bit: A glorious little story, beautifully and entertainingly written with fab characters and illustrations, pulled out of Meg's marvellous magician's hat! Don't miss it!
