Booky Advent Calendar Day 3 - "Robin's Winter Song" by Suzanne Barton (Bloomsbury Publishing)

Our third entry in the Booky Advent Calendar has a lovely wintry feel and features our favourite bird, the adorable Robin...
Robins are everywhere at the moment, thanks to a rather beautiful ad that's airing at the moment for a well-known posho supermarket brand.

We've always loved these little birds who have a very special place in our family for various reasons - and there's nothing we like better than making sure the robins in our garden get plenty of winter food to tide them over.

In "Robin's Winter Song" now released in a new paperback edition, Suzanne Barton once again explores the seasonal changes and the wonderful feathered friends who start to fluff their feathers and gather food for the coming months.

The woodlands and forests are busy and bustling, and the leaves fall gently to earth. Food is scarce and many animals are flying south for the winter as animals curl up in their burrows to hibernate.

Soon the snows will fall, and Robin wants to be prepared - making the warmest nest possible.

Following on from "The Dawn Chorus" Suzanne once again captures the delicious atmosphere of the seasons, and her characterful descriptions of Robin are lovely to read aloud.

A beautiful little book for your own little chicks!

"Robin's Winter Song" is out now, published by Bloomsbury (kindly sent for review).
