Pug a Doodle Do by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre (Oxford Children's Books)

Now here's something we can really get behind - a fantastic activity book featuring a cast of completely chaotic characters, oh and of course a metric ton of snorty snuffly snuggly pugs!
Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre's fantastic "Pug a Doodle Do" was a late addition to our summer activity list, but arrived just in the nick of time to become one of our favourite doodling, drawing and colouring books of the season.

Philip and Sarah are the creative geniuses behind tons of fantastic books stretching from early years right up to Philip's fantastic award-winning middle grade and YA stuff. Putting them together and tasking them with creating an activity book is actually a genius idea, as they draw upon their huge back catalogue of characters for a dazzling selection of ideas to get your pencils fizzing, your crayons melting and your felt-tips bristling.

Fancy designing your own Sea Wig? Want to learn how to draw the perfect pug - or any other animal for that matter? Totally in love with the idea of filling your page with Sea Monkeys? Want to help design the most amazing rollercoaster ride with Jinks and O'Hare? Then you're definitely in the right place as this big thick weighty activity book will keep you completely occupied for AEONS.

It's utterly brilliant, with just the right level of cheekiness (which we of course lapped up!)

Charlotte's best bit: Completing her own comic strips starring a certain gorgeous mermaid.

Daddy's favourite bit: A ton of amazing ideas, doodle challenges and colouring pages from two of the most creative people working in children's literature today. What's not to love!
