Cue the wibbly wobbly 50s B-Movie music. It's time for an awesome stack of invading monsters to take over your town! Run and hide!
From its Disney-esque and truly gorgeous artwork, to its tongue-in-cheek B-Movie observations, "Mind your Monsters" by Catherine Bailey and Oriol Vidal is show stoppingly glorious.
Young Wally happens to live in a fairly ordinary town until one day a mass invasion sees monsters of every shape, size, colour and kind bursting forth to wreak havoc. Trashing buildings, stamping on cars, generally ponging to high heaven, these monsters are a horrible lot but perhaps Wally knows the secret of winning them over. Could it be as simple as just saying "please" ?
"Mind your Monsters" is a manners lesson dished up in the most delicious clothing. Fans of Pixar movies and that glorious almost coloured-pencil-style artwork are really going to take to this like ducks to water and the story is a lovely easy read for kids who love monsters and mayhem. Utterly brilliant!
Charlotte's favourite bit: Monster dietary habits leave a LOT to be desired. Ugh!
Daddy's favourite bit: Just about every type of monster you can possibly imagine or dream up is wheeled out to serve up a delicious moral lesson on the merits of being polite (and yes, saying please!)
