Here's a funky new book from two blog favourites. Fusing peerless rhymes with glorious visuals, it's "The Dragon and the Nibblesome Knight" by Elli Woollard and Benji Davies.
The dream team are back! Elli and Benji's new book celebrates a rather unusual friendship.
When a young dragon named Dram (excellent name!) is cast out from the nest to (literally) cut his teeth on the important dragon business of scoffing down knights and generally breathing fire all over everything, things don't quite go according to plan.
Dram drops out of the sky, right next to a tiny pint-sized knight who takes the unusual looking 'bird' under his wing, helping his aches and pains, curing his rather gritty throat and generally being a good egg all round.
But Dram has not forgotten his mission. He has to find a nibblesome knight! It's what dragons do! But when Dram realises that his new best pal and saviour is a knight, will that be the end of their friendship?
Elli makes rhyming look effortless (though obviously we know it's not - you can re-read Elli's wisdom on rhyming on this very blog!)
As ever, Benji's fabulous artwork also adds to this successful fusion of raw talent. Kids are still obsessed with knights and dragons, so this is guaranteed to be a bit of a hit methinks!
Charlotte's best bit: Dram downing some yummy honey to cure his tickly throat.
Daddy's favourite bit: Elli's pitch perfect rhymes mixed with Benji's fantastic golden-age-like artwork really makes this a standout title.
