Ah Wide Eyed Books, we've missed you. We haven't seen a title from this fab publisher in a while so it's something of a treat to take a look at "What Do Grown-ups Do All Day?"
So what do we do? This book is a fact-filled yet fabulously involving book taking a look at what our mums and dads, aunts and uncles and in some cases brothers and sisters get up to when they kiss us goodbye in the morning and disappear out of the front door for the day.
Charlotte spotted very quickly that there was a whole section about "Universities" so she dived straight for those pages. There was Mummy, doing her very important Administrative job, making sure everything runs smoothly. But no Daddy - No computer nerd who spends his whole time googling obscure bits of code to shove into browsers to make magic happen.
The book is broken up into other sections, covering professions as diverse as teaching, the medical profession, exciting jobs (the real cool stuff that we can only dream of doing), and just about everything else you can think of.
Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? (I don't). This book may offer some divine inspiration. Brilliantly written (and plus points for tons of diverse and gender-mixed roles here) and gorgeously designed and illustrated.
Charlotte's favourite bit: She rather liked the tractor driver on the farm who actually looked like she was about to drive an F1 car not a John Deere
Daddy's favourite bit: I'll forgive them missing out the University IT bods simply because the rest of the book is so cool!
