The world as you've never seen it before in the fantastic "Where on Earth?" Atlas (Dorling Kindersley)

It goes without saying that if there's one publisher you turn to if you want absolutely fact-filled brilliant non-fiction books, it's Dorling Kindersley.
We're very lucky to have been sent one of their latest Atlases, the "Where on Earth?" series presents a view of the world that is instantly attention-grabbing and immersive.

Using some fantastic 3D topographical maps, data and facts are presented with illustrations to truly give a flavour of all the continents in the world.

Find out more about population numbers as maps are also presented with 'spikes' to show just where the most densely populated cities are.

You can also find out where the best places to go for a bit of star spotting are, as there are maps that also show light pollution, and the spread of civilisation right across the globe.

The Himalayas. A lovely spot for a bit of hillwalking!

For us though, we loved seeing the maps that showed mountainous regions in stark contrast to the surrounding landscape, particularly the Himalayas, standing tall and proud between India and Tibet.

It's an absolutely fascinating read and a valuable reference for school. Above all though, it just shows that DK are still at the top of their game (even with the tiniest of typos on Page 8) when it comes to ruling the roost for non-fiction.
