Our Picture Book of the Week this week sees our favourite transport-obsessed book character take things a step further than trucks...
William Bee's Wonderful World of Trucks (which we heartily recommend, and was also a "Book of the Week Winner" by the way) is a glorious collection of trucks and vehicles.
But William Bee doesn't just stop at travelling on the roads. He loves the rails, he loves to soar through the air, or float on the sea - or perhaps even rocket into space!
In "William Bee's Wonderful World of Trains and Boats and Planes" we take another look at William's extensive vehicle selection starting off with a reliable old steam engine or two.
But of course Steam Engines need a lot of work to maintain and keep running, so perhaps a diesel loco might be better? Or a purring quiet and clean electric train?
Why stop at trains when you can have a hovercraft that can travel anywhere, or a mighty rocket that can put William into space along with all his chums.
When I was a kid I was completely obsessed with all things vehicular so I would have absolutely adored a book like this. In fact it's obvious that William's passion for vehicles is probably as geeky as mine, as he really does collect together amazing machines in such a fun and engaging way (we love all the neat little touches, like how cool it would be to be able to purchase your own William Bee Workwear!)
As brilliant as "Trucks" and a well deserved book of the week! Put your horsepower to the test in a whole new book full of amazing machinery!
Charlotte's best bit: Loving the electric train (as she just travelled on a very very fast one to Scotland and back!)
Daddy's favourite bit: Wonderful stuff from William once again with perfect illustrations and tons of engaging insights into engineering marvels.
