No one likes a bossy-boots, everyone loves monsters though - so what happens when you mix the two together?
In this delightful follow-up to "Ally-Saurus and the First Day at School", Ally is still convinced that the world is always a better place when viewed through the sharp eyes of a dinosaur. Donning her favourite dino t shirt, she goes out to play.
But there's a new neighbour to contend with. Maddie is, for want of a better description, a complete bossy madam and every time Ally and her friends meet her, she has a new set of rules that ensure Maddie is always first in every queue, and every game they play goes Maddie's way!
When Ally-Saurus and her friends are busily enjoying playing together, Maddie interrupts and starts to once again boss everyone around. Her game is all about monsters, and Maddie is determined that monsters don't dance, monsters don't cuddle teddy bears and monsters definitely cannot be dinosaurs.
It's the last straw for Ally-Saurus, and so she comes up with the perfect plan to make Maddie see the error of her ways.
It's a fantastic little book for showing kids how to deal with those pushy little folk they share a playground with. Stand your ground, gain confidence and perhaps make a few concessions to ensure that everyone (even the bossy boots) can join in and have fun.
"Ally-Saurus and the Very Bossy Monster" by Richard Torrey is out now, published by Sterling (kindly supplied for review).
