Time for more rhyming fun now, and a rather charitable young goat who thinks of others before thinking of himself...
"Goat's Coat" by Tom Percival and Christine Pym introduces young Alfonzo the Goat.
He's resplendent in his fancy new coat, yellow with blue trim - and perfect for a rainy day.
Everyone admires Alfonzo's snazzy coat but there's a problem.
Various animals have problems that only Alfonzo - and his coat - can solve.
Selflessly, Alfonzo realises that helping others is far more satisfying than being nattily dressed so his coat becomes a boat, a bandage, and even a really useful way of rescuing a baby chick from a tall tree.
This is a gentle rhyming story written to show children just how great it is to help others out. Reminded us a lot of "The Smartest Giant in Town" but in our opinion there aren't nearly enough books about goats.
"Goat's Coat" by Tom Percival and Christine Pym is out now, published by Bloomsbury Kids (kindly supplied for review).
