"The Book of Trees" by Piotr Socha and Wojchiech Grajowkski is the follow-up to the absolutely fabulous "Book of Bees" by the same creators, this time they've delved deep beneath the bark to bring us a non-fiction book that pushes the bar sky high.
Most kids will probably be rolling their eyes at the though of a book about trees. Mere trees? What on earth do they ever do for us?
The answer to that question comes as soon as you open this absolutely mammoth book. We love non fiction books - we REALLY love colossal large format non-fiction books that just beg to be sprawled out with on the floor, and this is definitely a contender.
So once you dive in you'll learn a lot about different types of trees from all around the world. But naturally this book doesn't stop there.
This is one jaw-droppingly beautiful book! |
It also details all the amazing forms of life that rely on trees for homes, for their food sources and of course like us for a valuable natural resource that we can use and use again (but of course the book is also careful to detail the ecological impact we have on trees, and how so much more work needs to be done to reverse the terrible climactic changes taking place in our forests).
What does your family tree look like? |
