We're huge fans of Tom McLaughlin's "Accidental" series, and it's great to see him branching off in an entirely different direction with a real howler of a book.
"You've Been Werewolfed" is the story of Geek Girl Tyler, who is packed off to summer camp by her meanie parents.
No geek goes without their gadgets, and inventive Tyler can't resist packing one of her latest science projects - the Hologramaphone 3000. Problem is, some of the phone's functions have EXTREME side-effects. Fancy a long pair of ears, huge fangs and a covering of light grey fur?
Tyler bands together with new friends Dylan and Ashley to get to the bottom of their own tricky werewolf problem, but can they solve a strange mystery in the camp in time for the full moon?
Full of brilliant comedy moments, awesome and relatable characters (relatable for C at least, who instantly compared the three main characters of Dylan, Ashley and Tyler to herself and her two best friends) and another winner from a very funny man indeed. Do not miss this one, it's howlingly awesome!
Sum this book up in a sentence: A wolfishly gleeful and funny read for super-geek girls and boys everywhere.
"You've been Werewolfed" by Tom McLaughlin is out now, published by OUP / Oxford Children's Books (kindly supplied for review).
