What a neat little counting and rhyming book and it's never too late to cuddle up with a book that's as snuggly as its title. 'Snug as a Bug' by Tamsyn Murray and Judi Abbott tells the tale of George - and it's a tale that really strikes a chord at the moment.
Along with The Strolling Mum we try to escape the house as much as possible to avoid cabin fever. George's mum tries the same one rainy morning, suggesting a trip to the park but George takes one look at the rain and isn't keen.
Luckily Mum knows exactly what's required. Wrapping up warm, as snug as a bug! Or as cosy as bats in thick woollen hats!
As the story unfolds, we get to meet some great little animal characters all doing their best to dress up warm and cosy. Every child will quickly find a favourite, and Judi Abbott's brilliant illustrations made us chuckle with some really inventive combinations!
Out on January 31st in paperback, Snug as a Bug makes us want to wriggle under the duvet, shutting out the wet and windy weather with our favourite books and cuddly toys.
Charlotte's best bit: Without a doubt, those fantastic pigs in their purple wigs.
Daddy's favourite bit: Nine little bees on tiny little skis!

It's the party season and a feast must be prepared. But what happens when a tiny mole discovers that the cupboards are bare, the very last rich tea biscuit has been scoffed, and in fact the guests are going to have very loud rumbly tummies?
It's time to go foraging, but as a journey into the deep dark forest begins, the small brave band of Bear, Rabbit and Mouse realise they're being followed! EEK!
What lurks in the shadows, dogging their every step?
You know what we're going to say, you'll have to read "Mole's Harvest Moon" to find out. A fantastic little book that surprises at every turn of the page, and builds up a nice little head of tension before the big reveal.
Judi Abbott's effortless mix of a great bounce-along story with stylish and modern illustrations charms and delights, and the animal characters aren't your usual cliched bunch of fuzzy furries either.
Charlotte's best bit: Brave little rabbit!
Daddy's favourite bit: Love the way you can read this and really ramp up the excitement and tension till the big finale.
