If there's one thing we love more than classic literature here at ReadItDaddy, it's a good old fashioned doodle book that lets us go completely crazy with scribbles, activities and colouring.

So combining the two is a feat of sheer genius. Step forward "Doodle Lit" by Jennifer Adams and Alison Oliver, available now from Gibbs M. Smith Publishing.

Some of the leading figures in classic literature are the stars of a book revolving around some of their best known and most well loved work. Can you draw Mr Darcy's dog from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen? Or how about designing and colouring some masks for a masked ball?

Charlotte was tickled to find that the author she was named after also features here (Charlotte Bronte and Jane Eyre fans - you're in for a treat!)

Tinged with humour, and purposely kept kid-friendly, it's a fantastic way to pique your children's interest in some of the most well-known novels of all time.

Presentation-wise, the book is a large format softcover book and though we almost feel terrible if we pick apart an activity book when going through some of the makes, the pages are helpfully perforated so you won't completely ruin the rest of the book when you're trying to cut things out or stick things down.

"Doodle Lit" is available now!

Charlotte's best bit: Charlotte loves "Pilot" the dog from Jane Eyre, of course!

Daddy's Favourite bit: A glorious activity-filled celebration of some of the best loved and most famous novels ever. Utterly genius idea!
