Our book of the week and our 11th Booky Advent Calendar entry is a wonderful and original yuletide tale. Meet "Santa Baby" by Smriti Prasadam-Halls and Ada Grey...
If there's one thing we love more than anything else, it's a christmas story that manages the neat trick of feeling like a classic tale, but is also fun and original too.
"Santa Baby" tells the festive story of Santa's son and his favourite 'little helper' Roo. Santa Baby is a bit too young to go out with dad on Christmas Eve to deliver presents to all the good girls and boys, but that doesn't stop Santa Baby wanting to join in.
This year, he vows, it's going to be different - and he's going to join in with the christmas mission. But sometimes even the bravest little christmas baby might need a helping hand from their mum or dad.
Gorgeous rhymes, superb illustrations that virtually leap off the page to shower you in snow and presents, it's a glorious and joyous little book this one, and thoroughly deserving of our festive Book of the Week nomination!
Charlotte's favourite bit: Santa to the rescue!
Daddy's favourite bit: Both wholly original and feeling like a christmas classic that's been around forever, this is a truly special little christmas book that's destined to become a bedtime story favourite.
