Look! Up in the sky above the chiller section! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's a...er..it's a potato. But not just any potato...
It's the glorious return of Supertato in his second super-powered picture book outing.
Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet, creators of brilliant children's picture books like "Barry - the Fish with Fingers" and our particular favourite "No Bot - The Robot With No Bottom!" are back with another fast paced superhero tale for tiny tiddlers.
This time Supertato will need all the help he can get as the nefarious Bad Pea switches off all the freezers in the supermarket, creating an entire army of gone-off legumes to wreak havoc and generally get up to mischief.
Supertato finds himself quickly overwhelmed, but with a flash of his awesome superhero belt and a call to his team, the Veggies are on the case. Tomato, Marrow, Butternut Squash and Sweetcorn zoom to the rescue! Will they make it in the nick of time before Supertato becomes a 'foreign object in the bagging area' ?
We thought this book was an excellent romp, a giggle a minute and let's face it, who on earth could possibly like peas when you could enjoy a nice healthy dose of super-powered 5 a day instead!
Charlotte's favourite bit: The poor ice lollies, looking slightly the worse for wear at the end of the story
Daddy's favourite bit: Faster than a speeding Brussels Sprout. Able to leap tall stacks of baked beans in a single bound. It's a triumphant return for Supertato!
