Tackling the tricky subject of childhood emotions, this beautiful peep-through book is a bit of a winner...
With the popularity of the Pixar movie "Inside Out", children have begun to explore their feelings and emotional states more often - and it's clear that some children develop a mature understanding of feelings and emotions very early on.
This new picture book by ace editor and book blogger Libby Walden and illustrator Richard Jones helps children explore a little further, and it's an utterly gorgeous book to act as a springboard for those rather intense conversations between parent and child (you know the ones, that usually begin with a myriad of questions and ultimately end with a "Why?")
"Feelings" takes you on an emotional journey as a little boy begins to explore his own feelings, as each scene unfolds.
The flowing and lyrical text wraps itself lovingly around Richard's fantastic illustrations and younger children will love the peephole pages, eventually culminating in a wondrous final scene as the sun sets.
It really is a beautiful little book.
"Feelings" by Libby Walden and Richard Jones is released on 8th September 2016, published by Caterpillar Books.
