NY is for New York by Paul Thurlby (Hodder Children's Books)

Some children's books are so gorgeously designed and illustrated, that you feel like leaving them scattered around your living room when visitors come round for coffee...
Such is the case with the gorgeous "NY is for New York" by Paul Thurlby. Thurlby's books are renowned for being luxuriously presented and illustrated, and this alphabetical travelogue of the city that never sleeps, so good they named it twice, is his best yet in our opinion.

Take a whistle-stop tour of the big apple and see all the amazing landmarks that make it a truly unique, diverse and vibrant city.

Each page spread opens out to present a gorgeous graphic of a particular location, with some information about it. It reads like a fabulous story, one that makes you want to visit the place as soon as you can scrape together enough pocket money to do so...

Lady Liberty might be french, but she's watched over New York for more than 100 years!
We'd love to visit, but I think the only way that's going to happen is if we somehow find a magic giant peach and fly there aided by tethered seagulls!

The Brooklyn Bridge - An amazing place to get a great view of Manhattan
