We'll always shout from the rooftops about amazing non-fiction books and Wide Eyed Editions / Quarto have consistently hit the highest standards with their titles...
A new series of books dig deep into fascinating subjects of science and natural history in the "Destination" series.
We've been taking a look at "Destination: Planet Earth" by Jo Nelson and Tom Clohosy Cole.
Rather than taking a dry academic approach to the subject of taking a look at the tiny green globe we're lucky enough to live on, it almost feels like a gorgeously illustrated travelogue full of the most amazing destinations stretching across the planet, looking beneath its surface and even high into the sky.
It just shows what an amazing place we live on, and of course how fragile our ecosystem is - a message that really needs to be brought home to youngsters from an early age, and reinforced with fantastic books like this right into adultood.
It's amazing stuff though, packed with tons and tons of amazing information and facts - and the most glorious illustrations we've seen in a natural history title for a very long time. I just wish we had internal shots to show you, it really is a beautiful book and we comfortably predict that Tom Clohosy Cole is a name you're going to hear a LOT of in the near future.
Wide Eyed Editions will also be publishing Destination: Space (again illustrated by Tom, written this time by Dr Christoph Englert) so that's also one to look out for.
In the meantime, do not miss this one, it's absolutely stunning.
"Destination: Planet Earth" by Jo Nelson and Tom Clohosy Cole is out now, published by Wide Eyed Editions (kindly supplied for review).
