We are seeing some utterly incredible books about colours at the moment. Not just the usual 'baby learns colour' type of stuff, but books that passionately explore the reasons we love to fill our world with colour and hue...
If there's one person who knows exquisitely how to use colour fantastically, it's children's author and illustrator Eric Carle. He is the curator of a new book that lets superstars of kidlit and art let loose with their pallettes in "What's your Favourite Colour?"

Gathering together an absolutely incredible roster of artists such as Frann Preston-Gannon, Philip C. Stead, Melissa Sweet, Marc Martin and Rafael Lopez amongst many others, Eric lets artists guide us through their colour choices with beautiful pieces of art exclusive to this book.

This fantastic book works on so many levels. For tinies it's a fab way to learn colours. For older kids, it's a great excuse to see some brilliant influences on their own art and then for even older kids (like me) it's a cracking example of how today's top artists think about colour and process, and how their own art reflects their own personality.

The artwork in this book is absolutely stunning. 

As an amateur artist who uses colour as much as possible, and being dad to a little girl who loves art and is finding her own path into colour theory this book is an absolute godsend.
