Hooray! Hooray! Every day is a cookie day! Our second Picture Book of the Week means it's time to get baking!
By jingo, this one has been hotly anticipated at ReadItDaddy Towers, with C more or less asking for it on a daily basis as soon as we knew of its existence.

Lotta Nieminen's fantastic little boardbook series "Cook in a Book" has, so far, covered some of C's favourite foodstuffs.

But no cookies, no chocolate-chip-melty-goodness.

Until now!

So here's "Cookies! An Interactive Recipe Book" that once again shows Phaidon and Lotta really know what they're doing when it comes to serving up a tasty slice of board book heaven.

This one is also brilliant, showing that a fun book can easily compete with a throwaway app on a smartphone when it comes to providing a great little slice of information in the form of a recipe for cookies, along with play opportunities stemming from interacting with the clever cut-out and flap-lifting elements in the book itself.

Oh my, you can almost smell how good these cookies are can't you!

It's another wonderfully inventive addition to the series and though I rather stupidly accidentally gave away our copy of 'Pizza' I have a feeling C will be guarding this one day and night to ensure it stays in our shelves for a long time to come.

Absolutely brilliant, entertaining and yes you could comfortably even use the recipe here to make real-life cookies! So what are you waiting for? Get playing, get reading then get baking!

C's best bit: Just like the real thing, pulling a nice baked tray full of glorious chocolate chip cookies out of the oven.

Daddy's favourite bit: What a brilliant series this is! A ton of engagement and interaction in a very cleverly designed little book that will show your kids just how easy it is to make a tasty treat. Lotta is a genius!
