Prince Ribbit by Jonathan Emmett and Poly Bernatene (Macmillan Children's Books)

"This one's good! This one's good!" sing-songed Charlotte as we dug through our review pile. She's right of course, "Prince Ribbit" is very good indeed!
"Prince Ribbit" by Jonathan Emmett and Poly Bernatene takes the traditional fairy tale of "The Frog Prince" and bounces it firmly on its head a little, spinning it into a hugely funny and original twist on the story you probably all know and love.

Prince Ribbit is indeed a frog and though he wears a crown and makes some pretty bold claims about his royal lineage, Princess Martha isn't convinced.

This slimy (it's MUCUS, not slime!) would-be suitor may not be all he's cracked up to be and the Princess very wisely reminds him that you shouldn't always believe everything you read in books (it's a good job the Princess didn't have the Internet - the same rule applies doubly!)

Once again Jonathan and Poly prove themselves a dream team. If you loved "The Princess and the Pig" you're definitely going to love this ticklish tale about a Princess and a frog.

Charlotte's best bit: Kissing frogs? That's just GROSS!

Daddy's favourite bit: Hilarious, beautifully illustrated and tons of fun. A great twist on a classic tale from two awesome fellas!
