This week's #ReaditMD13 Theme Week is a week-long celebration of booky dads. In the run up to Father's Day (Sunday 16th June just in case you're wondering) we thought we'd give mums a week or so to take a look at some of the brilliant 'dad' books there are out there, that are far more desirable presents than a pair of socks or some stinky aftershave.

Since setting up ReadItDaddy, to keep track of the books we both read to our daughter Charlotte, @theStrollingMum and I have definitely reaped the rewards of reading to her. In so many different ways we see the benefits of reading books to her, reading books with her now that she's beginning her own reading journey, and even making up stories. All things we've talked about this year and will carry on talking about while we're running our #ReaditMD13 (Read it Mummies and Daddies 2013) campaign and beyond.

As you'll see from this week's crop of reviews, a lot of books feature dads. Dads who are clever, dads who are a bit dozy (like me from time to time!), Dads who like fast cars, dads who like swinging their kids up on their shoulders on a hot sunny day while out for a stroll. Basically, brilliant dads of all shapes and sizes.

We'll also be linking to 'dad' books we've reviewed in the past, and hopefully hearing from a few other dads along the way too (don't be shy, we know you're out there - drop in and say hello in the comments or tweet us @readitdaddy on Twitter!)
