The Menagerie: Animal Portraits to Colour by Claire Scully and Richard Merritt (LOM Art)

Sometimes it feels like it's been raining forever. Not that we mind the rain, it gives us a good excuse to crank up the heating, grab a cup of hot chocolate and dig into an activity that's as soothing and restful as possible.
Colouring? You betcha. We love colouring, and "The Menagerie: Animal Portraits to Colour" serves up some of the most intricately beautiful designs to colour that we've ever seen in a noveau-colouring book.

Obviously animals are the subject, ranging from gorgeously detailed bears to a rather folorn looking Dogue De Bordeaux (or as Charlotte put it, a grumpy bulldog!).

It's all well and good colouring in pages in a colouring book, but what if you do a particularly good job and want to display your efforts on the wall too?

This book has you covered there. Each page is gently perforated so you can actually remove it from the book and put it on your wall or even frame it (the pictures are that gorgeous that you may well want to!)

With luxurious artwork by Richard Merritt, this is destined to become your favourite thing to do when the weather turns yucky and you've just sharpened the entire contents of your pencil box.

Charlotte's favourite animal: The tiger

Daddy's favourite animal: I love the elephant!
