Cat's Colours by Airlie Anderson (Child's Play)

Sometimes the simplest ideas can be turned into the most charming and wonderful children's books...
Take "Cat's Colour" by Airlie Anderson. Here's a very simple and minimal tale of a cute white cat who wanders the land collecting up all the gorgeous colours she can find.

Cat sees the most amazing sunset, and collects the glorious orange hues. Cat collects the black of night, the blue of the river and all the other colours in between and adds them to her dazzling white coat.

As cat explores, she becomes tired - and what better way to settle down for the night than with the most adorable (and colourful) little kittens snuggling up to her.

Purposely keeping the text to a minimum, and filling each gorgeous page spread with simple but hugely effective scenes, "Cat's Colours" is a really lovely colourful journey through a rainbow landscape of wonder.

Charlotte's favourite bit: Without a doubt, that lovely little scene at the end of the book where Cat snuggles up with her colourful little kittens

Daddy's favourite bit: A wonderfully simple but hugely effective story for children to teach them colours in a really neat way.
