Goodnight Everyone by Chris Haughton (Walker Books)

The ingenious Chris Haughton is back with another utterly sublime bedtime read, but one little bear doesn't want to go to sleep...
In "Goodnight Everyone" all the animals of the forest are settling down after a busy day (well, apart from the nocturnal animals who are just waking up).

One little bear really is still full of energy, but as he tries to rally his friends for more fun and adventures, he slowly realises that bedtime is bedtime, and there's really only one thing for it, to give in to sleep!

This is a perfect little book for settling your own little ones down at the end of a busy day. Innovative cut-pages in this board-book format are fantastic to flick through as one by one each animal tucks up in bed, leaving little bear to kiss mum and dad goodnight before letting his droopy little eyelids close.

We really loved the beautiful colourscheme used in this book (Chris's artwork just pops out at you, it's so unique and fantastic). We've long been fans of his gentle storytelling and artistic prowess and this book doesn't disappoint, delivering a lovely sonorous message of (eventual) blissful snoozing.

If you're looking for something to act like a soothing balm for your busy little ones who are all hyper from long summer days of running around like mad things, this is going to do the trick beautifully!

"Goodnight Everyone" is released on 4th August, from Walker Books.
