Nothing Rhymes with Orange by Adam Rex (Chronicle Children's Books)

How odd, we've had two books arrive on our review pile with very similar subjects so let's try biting off more than we can chew with Adam Rex's "Nothing Rhymes with Orange"...
Orange. It's such a silly word really isn't it. It's a colour, sure, but it's also a fruit - and it's probably a fruit that has been driving poets and wordsmiths bonkers for years.

Nothing rhymes with it. Nothing. You can force it, squeeze it, even plead with it but it's a word that steadfastly refuses to be coupled no matter how hard you try.

Plums? Well they're OK...

Bananas too, and peaches are well catered for when it comes to rhyming. But poor Orange is left on the sidelines until we're left with only one choice.

MAKE UP A WORD THAT RHYMES WITH ORANGE!

Secretly we thing Nietzsche should feature in more children's books. He's a DUDE!
It's fun to play with language and Adam Rex's book encourages you to do so with gusto..! Fun fruit-based illustrations also add to the crazy mayhem.

"Nothing Rhymes with Orange" by Adam Rex is out now, published by Chronicle Children's Books (kindly supplied for review).
