ReadItDaddy's Second Picture Book of the Week - Week Ending 8th September 2017 - "Pierre the Maze Detective: The Mystery of the Empire Maze Tower" by Hiro Kamigaki and IC4 Design (Laurence King Publishing)

We make absolutely no apologies whatsoever for once again featuring the amazing work of Hiro Kamigaki and IC4 Design in our Book of the Week slot...
No strangers to cropping up here, we've loved previous "Pierre the Maze Detective" books so much.

Devilish designs, stunning illustrations and hours of immersive entertainment, how could we resist the charms of another book in this fabulous series.

Here's "Pierre the Maze Detective" in his latest outing, this time solving "The Mystery of the Empire Maze Tower".

Moving things into the most incredible cityscapes you'll ever see, once again you're solving a devilish set of puzzles along with Pierre and Carmen.

Mazes are, of course, the staple of this book so it's a good job we absolutely love them to pieces (in fact Charlotte really loves real-life mazes, so if you ever find yourself stuck for something to do, we can heartily recommend the mazes at Cliveden House, and also the maze at Greys Court (which we visited only yesterday, as a matter of fact).

Part maze book, part spotting book, the Pierre adventures are thoroughly absorbing and the art is just utterly incredible (you would seriously love to give house room to these, framed and stuck on your wall, they're that good).

I found myself pinching this book while Charlotte was asleep just to pore over all the tiny little details worked in by Hiro and his team.

Utterly superb stuff.

"Pierre the Maze Detective: The Mystery of the Empire Maze Tower" by Hiro Kamigaki and IC4 Design is out now, published by Laurence King Publishing (kindly supplied for review).
