Home Sweet Home by Mia Cassany and Paula Blumen (Frances Lincoln Children's Books)

Here's a gorgeous book, finally translated into English and brought to the UK by innovative and diverse publishers Frances Lincoln Children's books...
How could we possibly resist a book that not only takes us on a whistle-stop tour of the world, and the amazing places people live in - but also introduces us to their pets.

Here's "Home Sweet Home" by Mia Cassany and Paula Blumen.

It's a winning combination as we see the world through the eyes of people's pets, and of course the insides of their houses and homes right across the world, ranging from Brownstones in Brooklyn, New York to the cosiest and most adorable looking cabins in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Each page spread feels like a little story in its own right as the pets narrate and tell us all about their homes.

Wouldn't you love to live in a place like this? Wonderful, wonderful Amsterdam!
The attention to detail in each illustration is really wonderful, full of character and colour.

Chilly up in Cape Cod but in the spring, it's a vibrant landscape full of laughter and fun
We really loved putting 'voices' to each of the animals as we read each section out loud (have you ever tried to fake an Icelandic accent? It really isn't as easy as you'd think!)

A truly lovely book, particularly if kids love movies like "The Secret Life of Pets" or just love finding out a little bit more about where people live all around the world.

Charlotte's ideal home and pet: Living on a tiny island surrounded by water, in a cosy cabin with an adorable moggy or three.

Daddy's ideal home and pet: Pretty much the same as Charlotte's!

"Home Sweet Home" by Mia Cassany and Paula Blumen is out on 5th October 2017, published by Frances Lincoln Children's Books.
