I Want to be in a Scary Story by Sean Taylor and Jean Jullien (Walker Books)

Bang on time for Halloween, and looking every bit the part with its spooky theme and colour scheme, here's "I Want to be in a Scary Story" by Sean Taylor and Jean Jullien...
It's lovely to see Sean and Jean teaming up once again for a perfect picture book. After the utterly fantastic "Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise" we were delighted to hear about this book all the way back at the start of this year - and even more delighted to now see it heading to bookshops with exquisite timing.

It's the story of a little purple monster that wants to be in a story. Not just any story, but a SCARY story.

Of course, it all sounds great until you actually start to wander around in the dark, around haunted houses, witches, big scary gorillas and other things that go bump in the night.

Little Monster isn't sure, but can he be brave enough to see the story through to the end?

Adorable, but not a bit scary!
We love the switcheroo mid way through this as the little monster's bravado slowly slides away...

Egad! Spooky stuff!
It's a fun tale though, so no scares really - until Little Monster's next adventure at least!

Perfect halloween fun for little ones!

"I Want to be in a Scary Story" by Sean Taylor and Jean Jullien is out now, published by Walker Books (kindly supplied for review).
