Out Today - the very latest edition of the fantastic DK Children's Encyclopedia (Dorling Kindersley)

We are always in our element when there's a big fat fact-filled non-fiction book to review and today sees the release of the latest, greatest edition of the awesome "DK Children's Encyclopedia"...
As we've said so many times on the blog, DK has a fantastic  reputation for taking non-fiction titles to the next level.

For many years both my wife and I have collected and kept our own DK books, and now Charlotte is enjoying the newer titles - which are every bit as good as ever they were.

Competing with the growth of digital information online is never easy, but there's still something quite sublime about leafing through a big thick encyclopedia and marvelling at the diverse range of topics tucked within its pages.

The latest edition of the DK Encyclopedia is aimed at a broad range of ages, so as soon as children start to explore their world a bit more, and their curiosity is piqued, this is the sort of book it's worth picking up for them.

From Robots to Rock Cycles, the range of topics on offer in this luxurious book are amazingly diverse
The book is laid out by category, and each page details the topic in question, with referral points to other parts of the book for even more information, making it very easy to flick through and find tons of information to help with homework or just to soak up tons and tons of amazing facts.

Dog or cat, bunny or guinea pig? What's your favourite pet?
It goes without saying that with Christmas just around the corner, this would make an absolutely fantastic stocking filler - the sort of book that kids will be reading for hour after hour.

How many different flags and flowers can you identify or name?
Beautifully presented, exquisitely detailed, once again DK builds on their already sky-high reputation with a really fantastic new version of their benchmark encyclopedia series.

"DK Children's Encyclopedia" is out today, published by Dorling Kindersley (kindly supplied for review).
