Star Wars Made Easy: A Beginner's Guide to a Galaxy Far Far Away by Christian Blauvelt (Dorling Kindersley)

Oooh ooh oooh, can you feel The Force? Sort out your Stormtroopers from your Sarlaacs in the fantastic "Star Wars Made Easy" from Christian Blauvelt and Dorling Kindersley...
Yes, we'll happily admit it, we're Star Wars nerds. Star Trek is OK, but when it comes to sitting down with a popcorn movie or two, we can't resist delving into our Star Wars collection (fave film - Daddy: Empire Strikes Back, Charlotte: Episode VII, just in case you were wondering).

If you're a youngling looking for a brilliant entry point to the sprawling and massive Star Wars Universe, it can be a bit daunting.

Thankfully Christian Blauvelt's new book gives you a massive head start with a fantastic pictorial beginner's guide to the movie, TV, comic and book universe.

Each page spread covers specific subjects and different Star Wars 'eras' covering the original trilogy, the prequels and of course the new movies and spin-off TV shows, the books - you name it and it's in here.

Superb technical illustrations, stills from the films and infographics are spread across each page with tons and tons of details about the characters, settings, worlds and all the lovely lovely technology that gives Star Wars its distinctive look and feel.

Learn all about key characters, what motivates them, their history and why they end up on one side or the other. Rebel or Imperial? Choose your side wisely, you must!
We particularly loved all the technical information, and seeing how this hugely complex movie universe has branched out into so many different fragments, all carrying that distinctive Star Wars 'stamp'.

Learn how the Battle of Hoth panned out in one of the book's most fascinating spreads. Don't forget your snow boots!
As you'd expect from Dorling Kindersley, the book feels fantastically luxurious, beautifully presented and gorgeously detailed. An absolute must, not just for new Star Wars fans but brilliant too for those of us who queued around the block to watch the movie for the first time back in 1977!

Who's who in the Star Wars Universe. Human, alien, droid or weird squishy thing
"Star Wars Made Easy" by Christian Blauvelt is out now, published by Dorling Kindersley (kindly supplied for review).
