"The Lion Tattoo" by Rumi and Atefeh Maleki Joo (Tiny Owl Publishing)

Tattoos - Love them or hate them, if you've ever had one you'll know that you really, REALLY have to suffer for your art...
"The Lion Tattoo" by Rumi and Atefeh Maleki Joo kicks off with a hip and trendy young man who loves stylish shirts but REALLY loves lions.

So much so that he decides it's time to get himself some awesome ink.

Time for a Lion Tattoo!

At first the dude is full of bravado but almost as soon as the needle touches his skin, he realises how owchy it all is.

So it's time to think about this lion. Does it really need a tail? A mane? What about a stomach?

We love the way this short and simple tale unfolds, with a minimal word count yet a hilarious story - beautifully illustrated with humorous pics throughout.

But oh, the payoff. It's just utterly delightful and makes this book worth picking up just for the 'gag' at the end.

Awesome, awesome stuff.

"The Lion Tattoo" by Rumi and Atefeh Maleki Joo is out now, published by Tiny Owl Publishing (kindly supplied for review).
