"Grumpy Duck" by Joyce Dunbar and Petr Horacek (Walker Books)

Here's an awesome farmyard tale that might bring back memories of our long hot summer this year...
"Grumpy Duck" by Joyce Dunbar and Petr Horacek tells the tale of a duck who is in a deep blue funk. You see there's no deep blue water to paddle in, the duck's favourite pond is completely dried up.

Trying to garner a bit of sympathy from other animals doesn't seem to get the duck very far.

Things become even worse when a grey cloud starts following her around.

Can any of Duck's friends cheer her up?

As I type this up, we're baking in the broiling hot sunshine but hopefully by the time this review goes live we'll get some lovely, lovely rain to fill up our ponds and streams, making our local ducks happy again. This is a really gorgeous little book perfect for tinies who love all sorts of animals (and love paddling too!) with Joyce's easy and flowing text complimenting Petr's awesome scribbly-scrobbly and super-colourful art style (which we love to bits!)

"Grumpy Duck" by Joyce Dunbar and Petr Horacek is out today, published by Walker Books (kindly supplied for review).
