"Moon River", based on the song by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini. Illustrated and presented by Tim Hopgood (OUP / Oxford Children's Books)

Here's a rather nifty idea for a children's book, adapting a classic song into a dreamy journey around the world...
"Moon River", the song made famous by Andy Williams, written by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini, has been lovingly illustrated and turned into a cracking little story by Tim Hopgood.

Tim's no stranger to this type of gig, as he's adapted other classics such as "Singing in the Rain" too.

But this one really works so well, with an adorable cast of characters following the lyrics of the song on their own trip across the moonlit seas and skies.

The book comes with an audio version with page-turn cues, and of course Andy Williams' utterly brilliant crooning version of the song as well (secret blogger fact: We're HUGE fans of Andy Williams and really love his music!)

"Moon River" by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini, illustrated by Tim Hopgood is out now, published by OUP / Oxford Children's Books (kindly supplied for review).
