The Rescue Princesses: The Star Bracelet
Okay, that's not exactly true. In fact the reason for the lateness of this review is largely thanks to Paula Harrison's brilliant writing STILL being such a huge draw for my daughter. "The Rescue Princesses: The Star Bracelet" is the latest in Paula's totally brilliant series, and it's been one that C has stuck with through her own solo reading journey.
So with the prospect of a new book, C went right back to her large collection of Rescue Princesses books (which still has a few books missing from it - something we're definitely going to have to do something about) and read them all one by one before polishing off "The Star Bracelet".
Sometimes on the blog I worry that C will start to 'go off' books by certain authors as the years pass, but it was actually a genuine delight to see her completely immersed in these amongst her choice of summer reads (and when you've not only got a huge selection of books at home crammed into bookshelves, and new books arriving almost daily, it really does say something about the draw of a set of books that she'll go back to them time and time again.
So the latest story, after all that preamble! Well, it gets a huge huge thumbs up from C.
This time we meet Rescue Princess Lily who loves all the animals in the Australian outback.
When Princess Lily and her friends find an abandoned baby kangaroo, they must look after the tiny joey and work out who is ruining the palace gardens at night.
To solve this mystery the princesses will need a magic jewel, ninja skills and the special power that comes from true friendship!
As the mystery unfolds, it's time for Lily to test her powers fully and so the real adventure begins!
I rather enjoyed the satisfied grin on C's face as she polished this one off, and politely asked whether there would be more (and of course there are all those missing books to track down too!)
A worthy book of the week indeed!
