"Maps of the United Kingdom" by Rachel Dixon and Livi Gosling (Wide Eyed Editions)

We absolutely adore books about maps. But these days it takes a little bit more to really impress us...
Thankfully "Maps of the United Kingdom" by Rachel Dixon and Livi Gosling might not have the snappiest title, but it's certainly full of the most amazing content.

Each section shows off a particular part of the British Isles, showing you the counties and regions in each.

Then the maps break down into areas of interest, and the landmarks, cultural information and even famous faces who hail from that town or city.

The best thing about books like this are that kids can skip right to the place they live and learn a lot more about it, things they might not even have considered themselves...!

From the highlands...(oh how we miss Loch Ness, we loved it there!)
The illustrations are rich and colourful, with some brilliant portraits of folk we know - and folk we'll be inspired to find out more about (including a really great representation of children's authors, we're delighted to see!)

Want to know where Professor Brian Cox is from? The answers are all in here!
This is one of the most interesting and thoroughly absorbing map books we've seen in a very long time.

A quick wave to my sister who lives here!
Absolutely fantastic, this book!

"Maps of the United Kingdom" by Rachel Dixon and Livi Gosling is out now, published by Wide Eyed Editions (thanks to Wide Eyed Editions for our review copy).
