"The Golden Acorn" by Katy Hudson (Raintree Publishing)

Another gorgeous book from a hugely talented young lady!

"The Golden Acorn" by Katy Hudson follows on from her brilliant "Too Many Carrots" and "A Loud Winter's Nap" once again featuring a charming collection of animal characters imparting a life lesson for us all.

This one's all about teamwork, and Squirrel is the bushy-tailed fellow who needs to learn all about it, as the annual Golden Nut Hunt race is coming up on the forest calendar.

Squirrel usually loves to win, but this time the race is announced as a team effort, so Squirrel will have to put up with other animals joining him.

But he doesn't want to be slowed down or held back by others. Will Squirrel learn to wind in his competitive nature and learn to share with his new friends?

It's a beautiful book and as ever, the massive appeal of this one is in the various interplays between the animal characters, all with their own personalities and nuances.

Sum this book up in a sentence: A fab little book for 3-5 year olds teaching them the value of teamwork and working together for a better reward.

Look out for "The Golden Acorn" by Katy Hudson, coming soon from Raintree (kindly supplied for review)
