Rib tickling rhymes? Hilarious cartoon drawings? It can only mean one thing, the return of a poetical legend!
"Never Nudge a Budgie" is a fantastic new collection of poems from a very talented chap who we have taken rather a shine to here at ReadItDaddy Towers.

One of the nicest fellas you could hope to tweet at but also a supremely talented and very funny wordsmith, we don't bandy about the term "legend" for just any old poet y'know!

As regular ReadItDaddy readers will know, we're addicted to children's poetry and never miss the chance to check out a cool collection of rambunctious rhymes.

Colin has collected together whacky poems, icky poems, downright weird poems but all with a light-hearted and razor sharp observational wit that makes us giggle like goons.

A giraffe with a rather long scarf? A girl called Betty wrestling with spaghetti? A crocodile with a winning smile, and a rather different pirate, they're all included as Colin breaks down each selection of poems into various categories that you can browse at leisure - or like us, greedily devour in one wonderful and hilarious sitting.

As ever, Colin's poems are accompanied by his awesome art (which I'm really rather jealous of being a bit of an amateur scribbler myself - he just has a way with character art that is gigglesome and immensely fun, particularly his gift of drawing just the right expressions for his character's faces).

We're huge fans (you can probably tell) and it's been glorious to read through this new collection. If you've a poetry-loving budgie sitting at home chirping in a cage, don't nudge it - just read it a few of these and it'll be one happy little feathered friend!

Charlotte's favourite poem: The very first poem in the book "When Betty Eats Spaghetti" which may be short but is rip-snortingly hilarious!

Daddy's favourite poem: Without a doubt, "Percy the Pirate", a proper seafaring scorcher!
