Wanted Birdie Friends
Some characters just BEG to be plucked off the page and given a right old cuddle. Poor Elwood Bigfoot is one such character but how can a furry fellow with such joie de vivre be spurned by the feathered creatures he wants to befriend? In "Elwood Bigfoot: Wanted - Birdie Friends" our not-so-abominable chum enjoys a wonderful life in the forest. But Elwood is lonely and all he can think of is how wonderful it would be to befriend some of the forest dwellers.
Particularly the birds, with their glorious plumage and happy songs.
Elwood hatches a plan to build an amazing treetop home so he can be closer to his would-be pals. After a lot of hard work and elbow grease, Elwood moves in but still finds the birds won't come near him. Is he really that big and scary?
Perhaps if he becomes a bird himself, things might go to plan?
As Elwood's story unfolds, we found ourselves rooting for him at every turn. I read "Elwood Bigfoot" out loud with a silly funny voice (something that Charlotte still seems to love even though she's older now and claims to be above such silliness!) and I think we both began to fall completely in love with this fuzzy monster, he never lets his mishaps get him down!
So do we give away the ending? Of course we won't - we want you to read this little beauty yourselves to discover whether Elwood's plans finally net him a whole team of chirping tweeting friends to share his wonderful life with!
Charlotte's favourite bit: Elwood's astonishing treetop house (I think we'd both love one of those in the garden!)
Daddy's favourite bit: Such a sweet story, and Elwood is such an adorable and lovable character!
