Nats Naughty Nits by Giles Andreae and Jess Mikhail (Orchard Books)

I really don't know how to tell you about this book without it having the same effect on you as it does on us...
Scratching. Uncontrollable scratching, we can't help it - and I don't even have anything on my head for nits to even LIVE IN!

But don't let that put you off "Nat's Naughty Nits" by Giles Andreae and Jess Mikhail. It's a fabulously entertaining rhyming romp from a dream team. Giles Andreae is obviously not only a top notch artist but he can spin perfect rhymes describing poor Nat's plight as his scraggle-taggle hair is swiftly infested by the pesky critters we all know as nits.

They are having a high old time as you can see from some of the page spreads below...

Oi! Gerrof my nose!
It gets worse. See if you can tell which bit was Charlotte's favourite bit from this illustration!

Yep you've guessed it. Nits on the toilet with their pants pulled down! Eeesh!
Of course, Nat's mum knows what to do and it's not long before those pesky nits are sent packing. But where will they end up next? Are you feeling suitably itchy yet?

Charlotte's favourite bit: Of course it's the nit sitting on the loo (reading a rather amusing newspaper of course)

Daddy's favourite bit: Infectious rhymes, brilliantly funny illustrations but we could NOT stop itching the whole time we read this. Even though my bonce is as bald as a ballerina's armpit!

(kindly supplied for review)

"Nat's Nits" by Giles Andreae and Jess Mikhail is out now, published by Orchard Books.
