Doctor Who Paper Dolls by Simon Guerrier, Christel Dee and Ben Morris (BBC Books)

It's about time you grabbed your scissors, kid! There's a Universe to save and you're going to need a certain Time Lord's help...!
Following on from the fantastic "Dr Who Origami" book you can once again exercise your paper-crafting skills with an even more fun book full of your favourite Gallifreyan.

In "Doctor Who Paper Dolls" all 12 current Doctors (sadly not the latest incarnation, which will be played by Jodie Whittaker) and their various companions are yours to cut out and keep in a wonderfully presented and illustrated new crafting book.

26 characters in all (including the Doctors) are contained within this Tardis-like book full of goodies, created by Simon Guerrier, ace cosplayer and Youtube sensation Christel Dee and illustrator Ben Morris.

From Hartnell to Baker, Davison to Capaldi, you name 'em and they're in here - along with their various costume changes and tweaks (great to see Tom Baker's 'Holmes' Deerstalker and greatcoat combination once again, of course).

Oooh oh, Tom Baker! Yeah, he was "My" Doctor.

I've always been a huge fan of the show (not quite on the same par as my Brother who probably has the largest collection of Doctor Who memorabilia in the country!) and it's great to see books like this coming out, so whole new (re)generations of Doctor Who fans can get involved. There are tons of details around each model, authoritatively written by Simon and Christel with absolutely fantastic renderings of the good doctor's most amazing costume changes. It certainly passed muster with my brother, and he really does know what he's talking about (he's the sort of person who walks up to random actors whenever he spots them, able to name the very year / episode they starred in Doctor Who, even if they'd probably rather forget about that particular stint in their career! Basically if you're out there, and you want to put together a Doctor Who book, for goodness sake hire him because he is a walking encyclopaedia on all things "Who").

Jon Pertwee, the awesome dandy (and, er, char lady!)
The only small criticism of this book is that you will need to cut out all the models yourself, which is VERY fiddly indeed. But arm yourself with a sharp pair of scissors (or if you're a wee one, ask an adult to help) and you'll soon be battling Sontarans, seeing off Daleks and kicking Ice Warriors in the avocados with the best of 'em.

William Hartnell - Fezzes have always been cool (as have checked trousers!)

"Doctor Who Paper Dolls" is out now, published by BBC Books (kindly supplied for review).
