"On the Night of the Shooting Star" by Amy Hest and Jenni Desmond (Walker Books)

A fabulous story with a message that (sadly, in this day and age) may seem all too familiar to a lot of us...
Do you know your neighbours? Are you on speaking terms with them? Do you even know their names?

Sadly for a lot of folk the answer to all three questions would be a firm 'no' as more and more these days people elect to keep themselves to themselves.

Just like the dog and rabbit in "On The Night of the Shooting Star" by Amy Hest and Jenni Desmond.

Bunny and Dog live on opposite sides of the fence.

No one says hello.

Or hi.

But on the night of the shooting star, two doors open...and two lonely souls find a wonderful new friendship.

A beautiful lyrical story with some truly lovely artwork from blog favourite Jenni Desmond, this is a feelgood story that might just make you sit up and think how nice it'd be to get to know the people you live near or next door to.

"On the Night of the Shooting Star" by Amy Hest and Jenni Desmond is out now, published by Walker Books (Kindly supplied for review).
