Once again, The History Press have drawn on the traditional stories of a county where we have family - so we were delighted to read "Devon Folk Tales for Children" by Leonie Jane-Grey, digging into stories and tales from locations we know and love across this gorgeous and beautiful county.
From the rugged coastline to the windswept boggy moors, Devon has a landscape that just begs to be written about - and Leonie has gathered together an amazing roster of stories featuring mythical creatures, mystery and of course a huge dose of magic as well.
Some of our favourite characters find their way into these stories, particularly the goblins and pixies that Devon is renowned for.
A truly beautiful and fascinating book, with each story just the right length for bedtime reading. Perfection!
Sum this book up in a sentence: A gorgeous and diverse collection of traditional stories brought to stunning life with Leonie's interpretations and illustrations.
