The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, Michel Laporte and Olivier Latyk (Words and Pictures Publishing)

Here's a hugely attractive version of a children's classic story, brought back to stunning life with some truly amazing laser-cut illustrations and cutouts...
L. Frank Baum's timeless "The Wizard of Oz" adapted by Michel Laporte and Olivier Latyk really is a treat for the eyes, with a subtle colour palette picking out the fabulous illustrations for this abridged version of the classic story.

Catch up with all your favourite Oz characters such as Lion and Tin Man as you join Dorothy and Toto on their journey to visit The Wizard of Oz.

Dorothy lives on a farm in Kansas with her aunt and uncle and her little dog Toto. Suddenly, a violent storm transports Dorothy to the land of Oz. Her only means of getting home is to follow the famous yellow brick road to meet with the famous wizard.

Along the way, she makes new friends and encounters both good fortune and danger. The original book was first published in 1900, and this new edition has a text specially adapted for younger readers which captures the excitement and drama in way that is accessible, easy to follow.

The perfect introduction to the classic story for a new generation. We'd definitely love to see more of Baum's work given the same treatment as this is a really nicely done version.
