Wishing for a Dragon by Becky Cameron (Hodder Children's Books)

When most kids are ready for sleep, tucked up in bed, reading bedtime stories there are always some kids who are still full of energy and wide awake, their imaginations soaring...
Olive, Barney and Ella are three such kids and in "Wishing for a Dragon" they've all got different ideas on the adventures they'd love to have.

Barney really wants to be a pirate, sailing the seven seas as a swashbuckling buccaneer, enjoying a life of plundering for booty on the ocean wave.

Olive wants to visit the hot steamy jungle, chop her way through thick bushes and trees and see all the creatures that live there.

Ella, however, really wants one thing more than anything else. Ella is our kind of girl, she wants to see...A DRAGON!

So off they clamber into their amazing patchwork hot air balloon, each fulfilling their own wishes through the power of their imaginations. Will they ever see the elusive dragon though and make little Ella's wish come true?

It's a delightful whimsical debut for Becky Cameron with just the sort of lovely little artistic touches we love to see in picture books.

"Wishing for a Dragon" by Becky Cameron is out now, published by Hodder Children's Books (kindly supplied for review).
