One thing we hoped for with the superb "Little People, Big Dreams" range of books was that we'd start to see the boys getting a chance to find inspirational characters of their own in amongst the titles. Not that books featuring amazing inspirational women shouldn't inspire both boys and girls, but we definitely got the impression from a lot of our readers that boys were just itching for the chance to dive into new titles featuring inspirational males.

So the first crop of titles are here, and the range is kicking off with two amazing guys from the world of science and sport.

First is "Little People Big Dreams: Stephen Hawking" by Isobel Sanchez Vegara and Matt Hunt.

Detailing the life of one of the greatest theoretical and practical scientists of the 20th and 21st Century, the late Professor Stephen Hawking's time on our planet was filled with amazing scientific discoveries, and some of the best selling science publications ever written.

We're delighted to see three more additions to the fantastic "Little People, Big Dreams" series from Frances Lincoln Children's Books, celebrating noted female figures in history and the arts.

Starting with "Audrey Hepburn" by Isabel Sanchez Vegara and Amaia Arrazola, this is the fascinating story of the celebrated dancer, actress and UNICEF ambassador, and her amazing life.

Starting with her early life during World War Two, through to ballet school, covering her amazing films and  acting career and her UNICEF work in later life, the book is stylishly illustrated and presented in collectable and durable hard cover.  Known as 'The Mother of the Freedom Movement', Rosa's inspiring story is covered from her early childhood up to the pivotal moment in her life when she stood up for her rights by refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus. 

We're delighted to see a further two new titles added to the fantastic and inspirational "Little people, Big Dreams" series from Frances Lincoln Children's Books and author Isabel Sanchez Vegara.

First, we meet one of the world's most famous mystery writers, a lady whose books have sold by the squillion and have inspired many movies and TV adaptations as well as many writers to take up their pen for the first time.

"Little People, Big Dreams: Agatha Christie" (with illustrations by Elisa Munso and translation by Emma Martinez) chronicles the early life of young Agatha, an inquisitive child with a nose for a mystery.

A self-taught reader who started voraciously consuming books at the age of 5, she was destined to always find a love of literature.

After serving as a nurse during the war, Agatha returned to civilian life and began to write her first novels, dreaming up amazing characters such as Hercules Poirot and Miss Marple.

Gloriously illustrated throughout, the book features more of Agatha's amazing life story at the back of the book for further reading, and lots of great recommendations of other places to find out about this lady's amazing life.

Also out on the 2nd March is "Little People, Big Dreams: Marie Curie"

Once again written by Isabel Sanchez Vegara, this time illustrated by Frau Isa with translation by Raquel Pitt, we meet one of the most fascinating and accomplished women scientists of the last 200 years. Marie Curie, a hugely important pioneer in the world of medicine, chemistry and physics.

Mme Curie won several Nobel Prizes for her discovery of Radium and Polonium, and their use in the fight against cancer.

Along with her husband Pierre, Marie Curie's thirst for knowledge and amazing discoveries have ensured that many, many lives have been saved through her pioneering techniques, offering a hugely inspirational figure for young scientists to look up to and learn from.

As with the Agatha Christie title, there are even more facts about Marie Curie's amazing life tucked into the back of the book. One of history's greatest scientists without a doubt.

 We really enjoyed reading the "Little People, Big Dreams" titles introducing us to the lives of Frida Kahlo and Coco Chanel.

Now two new titles have been announced in the series, available now from Frances Lincoln Children's Books.

"Amelia Earhart" chronicles the life of ace pilot Amelia, whose strong will and self-belief helped her overcome prejudice and technical problems to become the first female flier to fly solo across the Atlantic ocean.

Written by Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Maria Diamantes, "Amelia Earhart" is filled to the brim with astonishing facts about this pioneering pilot and her aerial adventures.

Also out now is "Little People, Big Dreams: Maya Angelou", following the life of a hugely inspirational and talented author, actress and civil rights campaigner.

Maya Angelou established herself as one of the most important and celebrated American writers of the last two centuries with an amazing body of work, including "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings".
